Tita Duties 101: Lighting Exercises with Jas, and Eianne

My two very cute nieces, Jasmine, and Eianne really helped me a lot accomplish my photography requirement today. They’re so patient, and obedient which had made my job done a lot easier.

My photography buddy, Vina, and I associated each other to do the task. We built a quick studio with black shawl stuck on the wall as our background, and a stool for our subjects to sit on, then voila!

As photography students like we are, it’s kind of “risky”, yet fun and intriguing to improvise instruments to do the perfect lighting. You have to be wise and resourceful when you have nothing but a flashlight, an empty box, and a little experience – all in your hand.

Well, still incomparable with the works of professional photographers with great-arse studio, but I thought we nailed it. Didn’t we?

Here's Jas, the elder sister of Eianne. She really is a model, but this time she's not giving out her best shot, because (first) she's shy, and (second) she just had her central incisors chipped yesterday.

So, here’s my BUTTERFLY lighting effect. I don’t think, I really nailed it, but I had just fun anyway.

Another Jaz's :)
Another Jaz’s :). My lola told me Jaz’s really into modelling. Sometimes, she goes to a photo shoot where she was requested/asked to endorse stuff like little girls’ accessories.

Here’s my LOOP lighting effect. What I understood about making this one is, you have to create two shadows behind the subject. Too bad my background is too dark, and my light is too soft. I wondered why it didn’t look perf as it used in my camera.

Here's Eianne, Jaz's younger sis. They looked so cute together that I yearned for having an elder sis.

Seemed I raped the aperture or something, but this is my favorite shot. I thought I nailed this REMBRANDT lighting; my subject is too shy, just like her ate.

Eianne is more obedient than her sister is. Every photo is a perfect shot. It's like she knows where to look; too bad she's shy.

Sorry! I raped it again. It looked as if I didn’t really used any lighting effect or something, but I hope you’d still appreciate it. I’m proud of my work, and I nailed this SPLIT lighting effect…

Lessons learned

…do not play much with the aperture, because in photography, what you see isn’t always what you will get.

Take me away…

Above all the places that are more worth staying and relaxing at, this chapel in my Alma Matter is still the best. Some students may prefer other places like, student center, media center (for my AB Communication batch mates, and friends yeeeehhaaww!), canteen, and gazebo (they got even plenty and bigger than the old ones!), but there’s no other place that can bring me love and beauty than this. See?

I really love the chapel's stained glass windows. I wonder if it's okay to have mine stained like these too

When I prefer to be alone and void myself away from people who stress me out, this place might take a long walk; but once you got there, you might tell yourself, Can I stay here for like, forever?”. It might be weird for a non-catholic student like I am, but appreciating such beauty as this is certainly don’t need religion, does it? Love is really NO religion.
